Susie’s shoot was a low-key studio project, with improvised lighting (thanks again to Nylithia Tom for his assistance.) It was also one of her first public excursions after recovering from a serious accident and subsequent surgery, so the goal was to show how her good humour and strong spirit had persisted, which undoubtedly plays a crucial role in her ongoing recovery.
Taking short rest breaks throughout the shoot while technical issues were addressed, Susie was nevertheless always “on” in front of the camera, with a natural charm and subtle flair that is clearly evident throughout this portrait series.
